To have the knowledge and be equipped with the application skills in basic principles in working within/around confined space.

The Performance Statements (PS) covered are:

PS1 - Prepare for confined space assessment with persons involved in confined space safety management in accordance with the applicable legal and other requirements.
PS2 - Identify hazards and take measures to prevent harm to safety and health when entering and working in confined space.
PS3 - Conduct gas testing to ascertain the atmospheric condition in the confined space is safe for entry in accordance with the applicable legal and other requirements, organisational confined space programme and entry permit system.
PS4 - Participate in risk control and emergency response for entry into and working in a confined space in accordance with legal and other requirements.
PS5 - Monitor the confined space conditions and control measures for safe working.

The “Assess Confined Space for Safe Entry and Work” course aims to provide
learner will have the knowledge and be equipped with the application skills in basic principles in working within/around confined space. The skills and knowledge covered will enable you to be appointed as confined space safety assessors under the relevant regulations.

Literacy and Numeracy
- WSQ Employability Skills Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 6; or
- Grade C6 in GCE ‘O’ Level for English and Mathematics; or
- Their equivalent

Science
Minimally:
- Grade C6 in GCE ‘O’ Level Science (Chemistry / Physics); or
- Its equivalent

Working Experience
- Recommended to have WSH skills & knowledge equivalent to Advanced
Certificate in WSH and minimum 3 years working experience in operations and co-ordination in safety work.
