The learning units are sequenced to cover key points from a ‘chronological’ approach starting from interpreting the security plan, to deploying of security equipment, to supervising manning of security equipment. Upon learning about the routine activities and organizational procedures to deploy security equipment, learners will next learn to apply the knowledge and skills to effectively monitor and review security operations and transfer the learning acquired to their workplace, which includes:
1. Interpret security plan
2. Deploy security equipment
3. Supervise manning of security equipment
Access Control Management (Deploy Security Equipment) is designed to equip security officers with the knowledge and skills to prepare, monitor and review security operations as required to operate in the field of the Security industry. This course aims to provide individuals who are working or wishes to enter the industry and it is also appropriate for Security Supervisor or equivalent in rank to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute to the management of security operations.
Learners should meet the basic entry requirements as indicated below:
1. Ability to read, write, speak, and listen to English at WPL Level 3.
2. Ability to manipulate numbers at WPN Level 3.
3. Education: Minimum Secondary 2 education.
4. Age: 21 and above
5. Experience in Security Industry: Senior security officers and security supervisors
6. At the TP Admin/ Registration Counter:
• A checklist to be provided to Admin to ensure the learner requirements (above) are met
• To make recommendations on suitable courses if the individual does not meet the entry criteria
• Verification of authenticity can be done via checking on certificates
