Social media in the likes of Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest are but some of the many social networks that have permeated and dominated our lives. Establishing a social media presence has become essential for businesses to build their brand presence and connect with the consumers.

This module seeks to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to monitor business environment to assess factors that impact strategy planning and operational plans in response to changes.
The course covers the following areas:

- Critical success factors of organisational and functional strategies
- Organisational policy and procedures for social media use
- Scope of environment analysis to appreciate the types of social media platform tools and their operations
- Market trends to prioritize key focus areas and identify the rules and regulations and terms of use of various social media platform
- Privacy legislation and confidentiality requirements, copyright and intellectual property considerations
- Techniques to synthesis patterns and trends and characteristics of consumer behavior, market competition in relation to social media usage
